Dream wins Oregon Heritage Excellence Award

We have just learned that "In Pursuit of a Dream" has won an Oregon Heritage Excellence Award "for its exemplary way of sharing immersive experiential learning about Oregon history." The award will be presented in Oregon City on April 9. There will be a public showing of the film on April 10, also in Oregon City.

from "Tuck" Forsythe to Dave & Karen Vixie, and Travis Boley, w. copy to Jim Tompkins:
(and to all the other people who were heavily involved in that movie)
Today, NW Chapter OCTA annual meeting devoted 90 minutes to watching
long version of "In Pursuit of a dream" movie.
Wow! Your perseverance over the years on this project has really paid off.
Now it seems like one of the best ways of conveying emigrant heritage
--and hopefully will become one of best ways
of interesting more people in OCTA-related activities.
~~Thanks and Congratulations!

Boy Scouts of America and the National Park Service have been working together since 1971 to provide young men between the ages of 5-18 with the opportunity to learn about resource protection management and other facets of the National Park Service.

Boy Scouts participate in park interpretive programs, resource management workshops, and volunteer clean up of parks and the NPS Scout Rangers program.

For further questions about the Boy Scouts and their relationship with the National Park Service call (202) 513-7146 or visit the Boy Scouts website.

I just saw the film at the Pix Theatre in downtown Albany, and I was so impressed with the production! Thanks to everyone who made this possible.
